I'm writing to ask about the availability of student accommodation.

I am an overseas student and will arrive at the university on September 5th. I would like to live on campus as far as possible. As I'm a light sleeper, I prefer a quiet dorm away from roads. I shall be studying for my master's degree in Medical Sciences, so it would be great if my dorm could be within walking distance of my laboratory. I would also prefer to share with other female students, preferably one who doesn't smoke.

As this will be my first time to visit the U.S., I would be grateful if you could also let me have detailed directions to the university. Your prompt attention to my inquiry would be highly appreciated.
